The Bald Truth: The First Complete Guide to Preventing and Treating Hair Loss
Spencer David Kobren is the Founder and Director of The Bald Truth Foundation, the only non-profit organization dedicated to consumer advocacy, education and funding research regarding hair loss. He is considered the country’s most prominent and effective hair loss consumer/patient advocate. Kobren is the host of his own Nationally syndicated radio program and is a feature columnist on three of the most respected hair loss web sites including Regrowth (the primary Internet hair loss resource for ABC-TV, and The Wall Street Journal). Kobren and his work are the focus of an upcoming Discoverery Channel documentary also titled “The Bald Truth”. His book, The Bald Truth; The First Complete Guide to Preventing and Treating Hair Loss is the # 1 hair loss prevention and treatment guide in the world. After years of researching hair loss and finally overcoming the early stages of his own male pattern baldness, which began more than ten years ago at only 22, he has dedicated himself to helping others prevent and treat hair loss. As a consumer advocate, he consults on issues of patient and consumer rights in this unregulated industry. Kobren lives in New York City.

Excellent practical and effective advice on hair loss
You may find that only half this book is relevant to you - but it is still well worth purchasing. The author explains in clear rational language the processes of male pattern hair loss and how this can be controlled - with or without drugs. The sections on herbal reatment and the importance of diet are excellent - my own experience testifies to the effectiveness of these recommendations.
A Lifesaver in the the sea of snake oil treatments.
Mr Kobren - Kudos to you. I am tired of being ripped off by unscrupulous snake oil salesman. Your book has enlightened me and made me an aware consumer.
I am now regrowing my hair thanks to your informative, educational and outstanding exposure of the hair loss industry.
I recommend that every balding man and woman consult Kobren’s hair loss bible before starting any costly and potentially damaging hair loss treatment.
A Truly Inspirational and Informative Book!
This extremely well written book is truly The First COMPLETE Guide to Preventing and Treating Hair Loss. Kobren’s approach is quite refreshing. He provides the reader with every thing he/she needs to make an informed decision about combating hair loss. After reading his book I had a better understanding of what my options were and what to avoid. I was able to relate to his personal struggle which gave me a sense of kinship with the author. I think that his efforts have already had a profoundly positive impact on this insidious and parasitic industry. I was horrified to see what had happened to The Hair Restoration Casualties and was left with a feeling of empowerment after putting the book down. I refer to it almost on a daily basis. It’s much easier to turn to this handy guide than to search the net for info which is usually conflicting. Kobren takes a strong stand and tells it like it is. He doesn’t pull any punches and that’s what makes this book so powerful…

Thicker looking hair and a healthier scalp - naturally.
I’m not interested in drugs, particularly ones for which the effect is reversed the minute you stop taking them. This book takes you through what you should and shouldn’t be sticking on your head and in your body, and what’s more this mine of information is published in a compact and highly readable 76 pages!
Excellent advice on supplements (Saw Palmetto or Serenoa repens in particular), vitamins and diet; which shampoo/conditioner to choose; use of massage and essential oils (these make your hair feel and look GREAT!); importance of brushing etc… It’s all here!
I can’t yet say how much is growing back (I’m only slightly thinning rather than bald), but my scalp doesn’t itch and my hair is looking much better! Highly recommended.
Peters shows balding is part of a bigger health problem.
Hair Loss Prevention shows that male pattern baldness and prostate problems are linked and that the vitamin, mineral, and fatty acid regimen which helps one is good for the other too, as well as for the condition of the skin (so women, too, can benefit from reading this book). It’s excellent for immediate protective care of the hair (advice on shampoos, conditioners, brushing, etc.) as well as a long term healthy diet which should stop more hair loss.
Regrowing Hair Naturally: Effective Remedies and Natural Treatments for Men and Women with Alopecia Areata,Alopecia Androgenetica,Telogen Effluvium and Other Hair Loss Problems
Regrowing Hair Naturally is a book for men and women who suffer from abnormal hair loss or have lost all their hair, either just on the head or on the entire body.
The book is unique in that it shows the true underlying causes for hair loss which are often not recognised by dermatologists or trichologists. A large section of the book deals with ways of counterbalancing these causes with natural means and therapies which work WITH the body and not against it. Hair regrowth is possible, even after years of baldness.

Great Book
Great read. Very useful info and in depth. Includes pretty much all the internet research I’ve done on hair growth and a lot more besides. The totally natural and obvious way to go, not just for hair growth but overall well being and health in general. Great CD to relax to as well.
Getting your hair back without chemicals
I loved the book! I have read many books about hair loss, but most of them just talk about what chemicals you can put onto and into your body to make your hair regrow. As I don’t like chemicals, I will certainly check out the herbs that are recommended in the book, and I have already had some fillings in my teeth changed as the book recommends. The best book I have read on the subject.
Latest research on help with hair loss
This is an exceptional book. It is clearly laid out and deals with the latest research into the causes of hair loss in men and women. What impressed me is that the author doesn’t just speak about ‘hormonal problems’ or ‘autoimmune dysfunction’, but she actually tells us WHY the hormones are not working and WHY the autoimmune system is overreacting and attacking the hair follicles. The book also gives a great number of very useful advice how the reader can help themselves by doing some tests, having their dental fillings sorted out and checking whether they have parasites in their body as toxic metals and parasites according to Vera Peiffer, can cause hair loss. She also recommends a great number of natural remedies and therapies that can help hair to regrow. The last section gives lots of case histories of people who have been able to regrow their hair with the help of the methods described in the book. Highly recommended for anyone who has a hair problem!
